We are here to help you with everyday surgical needs, including hernias, gallbladders, appendix, and anorectal conditions.
What We
Offer
â–¬
Gallbladder (Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy)
Gallstones can obstruct bile ducts and cause pain, infection (cholecystitis), or pancreatitis. Diagnosis is based on clinical symptoms, ultrasound, and liver function tests. Dr Elango performs laparoscopic cholecystectomy to enable quick recovery and low complication rates.
â–¬
Inguinal & Femoral Hernia Repair (Open & Laparoscopic)
Hernias occur due to a defect in the abdominal wall. Groin hernias (inguinal/femoral) may cause discomfort or bowel obstruction. Diagnosis is clinical, supported by ultrasound if needed. Dr Elango offers both open and laparoscopic mesh repair based on hernia type and patient factors.
â–¬
Pilonidal Sinus Excision
Pilonidal disease typically affects the natal cleft in younger adults, leading to pain, discharge, and recurrent infection. Diagnosis is clinical. Dr Elango performs definitive excision with modern off-midline closure techniques to minimise recurrence and optimise wound healing.
â–¬
Appendicectomy
Acute appendicitis results from obstruction and inflammation of the appendix, often requiring emergency surgery. Diagnosis is confirmed with clinical assessment and imaging (CT or ultrasound). Dr Elango performs laparoscopic appendicectomy for reduced postoperative pain and rapid return to normal activity.
â–¬
Ventral/Incisional Hernia Repair
These hernias occur through the anterior abdomen or from previous surgical scars. CT scans help assess the defect size and contents. Dr Elango offers complex hernia repair using open or laparoscopic techniques with mesh reinforcement to reduce recurrence and improve function.
â–¬
Haemorrhoid Banding
Internal haemorrhoids may bleed, prolapse, or cause discomfort. Diagnosis is made via proctoscopy. In early cases, Dr Elango offers band ligation and in more advanced disease may require surgical haemorrhoidectomy under anaesthesia.
